Supplements | My Fitness Journey

Image
When I started my fitness journey, I would try supplements here and there, but I wouldn't stick to any of them. I wasn't really keen on why I would need them and what they were good for. I would try protein powders and not like the taste and the kinds that we had were not even the optimal for me. And when I would try pre work, I would try them just for fun. The flavors were okay enough to be like "I can take this", but I never added it into my routine until years later. The first supplement that I would stick to somewhat is protein powder because I knew that you needed to feed the muscle for it to grow. So, I would add that in to help when I wasn't eating enough. More years later when I had issues getting the energy and the motivation to workout, I would add in some pre-workouts and there are a couple ones that I've tried that I liked and then there's some that I really did not like. In the end I had to experiment a little to figure out what I liked, and I

Running & Cardio | My Fitness Journey

Image
Running and cardio has become a very integral part of my fitness routine. I run three times a week and then use the Stairmaster at least once a week, usually. I used to be horrible at running. I used to be incredibly slow. When I first started, the goal was always to run 2 miles, but it was also to run 2 miles quickly. When I started, I would run two miles in 23 minutes and some change, but my goal was to run two miles in 18 minutes and 30 seconds. It took me two months to hard training and injuring myself, but I eventually got to do it. For years after that, I still hated running, but I still had to do it. It wasn't until I took matters into my own hands that I was able to get better.  For years, I was made to train in groups who led the training based on their own abilities and just assumed that everybody else would be able to do it. A lot of people got injured but eventually we all just kind of were released into the gym and made to train whatever we needed to train. And I was v

Updated skincare routine | May 2024

Good morning, ladies! So last time I posted about the skin care routine it was BYOMA set that I found to see if I'd like the brand. Since then, I have gone to buy full size products, and this is what I have in my routine today. (I put this in order of how I use them) I start off with creamy jelly cleanser and tri-ceramide complex, licorice root, and green tea. It's a great gentle cleanser so it won't be able to take off all of your make up in the first go. It has a good lather and doesn't have any irritating fragrances. Next, I go in with the hydrating serum it also has the Tri-ceramide complex but with this one has squalene and glycerin in it. I like this one because it goes into the skin really easy and smooths on real quick. It makes this nice hydrating layer. I really love this specifically in the winter because it was just incredibly dry here in Colorado.  Onto the real moisturizing product, the moisturizing gel sunscreen it also has a tri-ceramide complex but t

My 2024 Skincare Routine

Image
All 2023 I’ve been trying new skincare items through Ipsy and my skin was still doing good. But lately I’ve wanted to make a simple routine that remained mostly the same even when I was reviewing new-to-me products. I looked around at a bunch of the brands that offered bundles so I could get a good scope of how the products functioned and how they worked for me. I settled on the brand Byoma because the price to product ratio was the best and I saw a lot of good reviews for it. I started with the  Hydrating Starter Skincare Kit  which has your basic skincare needs; cleanser, serum, and moisturizer. They are all generally unscented and gentle on the skin. Usually, I have the problem with gentle cleansers where I need to use a little bit more but I didn’t have that problem so much with this one. It’s not gonna get a full face off in one go but it’s still pretty good. I like how moisturizing and milky the serum is I feel like my skin really soaks up the moisturizer better because of the s

Bougie auntie vibes - OOTD

So, today was supposed to be a day of running errands but the glasses we ordered weren’t ready so I didn’t end up going. I’m wearing this black dress I got from rainbow (I ordered it last week) and the same Shacket from Walmart . It’s super cute and I’m never gonna get tired of it (until it’s too hot to wear it lol) The vibe for the shoes were just going to be some black and white Nike running shoes. Real casual vibe. *All links are affiliate links and I get a small commission if you use them

Mocha vibes - OOTD

Today’s agenda was to run some errands. I wanted to order some glasses for my daughter and some contacts for myself and fix my son’s phone. I also took a quick-ish trip to dollar tree and got some fun stuff for crafting and cleaning. The OOTD! I’m wearing this super cute jumpsuit from Rainbow and this Hoodie shacket  from Walmart. I love a good one piece / jumpsuit outfit. I plan to get more because it makes outfit planning easier and my go to way to style this is with a loose jacket that’s either a similar color or black. I accessorized with an Unas Annus dad hat (the website no longer exists) but I feel like I should’ve added some jewelry to give it a little more “I tried” lol. I chose my glasses with the brown frames today because I couldn’t find the gold ones but I could have done a gold necklace and tied it all together. *All links are affiliate links and I get a small commission if you use them
