Things they don't tell you about: Being a mother

When you have your first child you're warned about the lack of sleep but,  everthing else cone cones as a surprise.

1. Your food is always cold.
Imagine you made you (and your significant other if you have one) dinner and you sit down to eat. You think you're going to eat? Nope. The baby has either pooped every where or is somehow starving and needs every little bit of your attention before she/he is satisfied. By the time your done your food is feels like a thawed out frozen dinner.

2. Naps cause the most stress.
Naps seem like the perfect break and they are... when they finally go to sleep, that is. Until they go to sleep they'll be fussy and irritated and don't even know why. And you need patience to get them to sleep so, while you're running out of it you need to have even more if it. And the longer they're awake the more they get overtired.

3. Growth spurts have no warning.
You won't know until its time to feed and they appear to not have eaten in years even though you may have fed them only an hour ago. They eat at least twice as much and are much fussier for food. If you aren't sure if a growth spurt is why your child is extra fussy just try feeding them. It can't hurt and they need it to grow properly.

4.You'll wish you had more arms.
It will come to a time that your child would rather watch up close than sitting in their bouncy chair, swing, or stroller. They'll want you to hold them no matter what you're doing and because you're mommy or daddy in there mind they think what you do us magic and that you don't need the use of both of your arms.

5. Babysitters are actually your nightmare.
[Trigger Warning]
Even though you're busy and may trying to get your life back together, you're (or atleast I am) hesitant to let anyone watch your child. It seems like you don't hear nearly as many cases of child molestation until you give birth. The ones that are the scariest are when someone the family trusts does it (and not just once).

I hope this gives you some tips and insight on the mind of a mother. These are things I've experienced and I hope they help you prepare or let you know there's nothing wrong with you or your baby.
Take care and stay hydrated.
