Baby Care Essentials!
As a new mother, you're 100% going to be thrown through a loop as you discover what motherhood feels like and how tiring it is. So here's a list of essentials you'll need to raise your child!
The obvious things:
• Diapers.
After you give birth, the hospital will provide some in sizes 1 and premature. This is a good opportunity to figure out what size best fits your baby. I recommend getting size 1 before then because either your baby will grow into it or already fit it.
• Onesies.
When your baby is first born they will need help keeping warm so I recommend onesies that cover the arms and legs completely. When they get older and start pooping more often I recommend the onesies that are like leotards just in case leaking occurs, so you can catch in the clothes and it doesn't get all over the furniture or your clothes.
• Blankets.
These help to keep your child warm and when the baby is a little older and has trouble sleeping you can swaddle them bring a feeling of security.
Everything else:
• Body wash and Shampoo
You may not wash your baby much before the bellybutton heals but when you do you'll need soap. I recommend Dove, Aveeno, and Burt's Bees for your baby washing needs.
• Diaper Rash Cream
Even if you don't expect your child to get diaper rash it is good to have just in case. Some creams can also be used to prevent a rash. Babies tend to pee more when you they sleep so applying a bit before they sleep helps.
• Burp Cloths
Babies tend to vomit if a gas bubble is trapped behind milk. It's very helpful to catch and wipe up the vomit. And when your baby gets to the age when they start teething they'll drool a lot so this will help with that too.
• Portable Changing Pad
This will help in all sorts of situations where you need a clean surface to change your baby. It also helps for easy cleaning when your baby has a messy poop.
• Diaper bag
It's big and insulated to fit diapers, wipes, bottles, blankets, and the stuff you would usually put in your purse.
I hope this was helpful and that you learned something. Good luck and have a great day!
