February Favorites
I discover at least one new thing every month. I have Ipsy, scent bird, and just whatever skincare or makeup product I decide to try. I do reviews on my own on those platforms, but I would like to let you guys know what I find that I think is worth trying.
For Skincare this month I tried the Clay Mask by NENA, the Water Sleeping Mask by Laneige, and the Tatcha oily skin starter kit.
- The NENA clay mask was really interesting. It had a really thin consistency, but it wasn't too watery. Because it is thin, it dried easier and quicker, and more spread evenly. When I used it my face didn't feel super dry and it did make my pores feel tighter.
- The water sleeping mask from laneige is the first overnight mask I have ever tried, and I want to try more. The texture was like a creamy gel that just sits on top of the skin like a thick moisturizer. The smell reminds me of hair gel because it smells like a certain "fresh" scent. My skin wasn't particularly moisturized the first time I tried it because I put a the amount your would put if it was a moisturizer and not a mask.
- I liked the Tatcha Starter kit because it worked pretty well. One thing I don't like is the price of Tatcha products but I wanted to try the brand and considering that the starter kit was the price of one product, I feel like I got my money's worth. The kit will last you about a month so its a good way to fully test the products to see if this is something you would splurge on.
- The Camellia cleansing oil was something I didn't know if I'd like but I actually did. It was a cleanser that really hydrated my skin instead of stripping it but I felt like it somehow removed the excess oil as well as dirt. I liked the smell as well.
- The Rice polish : Deep is a fun exfoliating cleanser that you pour onto your hand in the form of sandy powder. You add water to it and it basically turns into a foam cleanser. You can choose how much water to add and that determines if its really rough or really gentle and foamy. Its marketed as an everyday exfoliant. I don't feel like it's too abrasive but I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use if you have sensitive skin.
- The essence is a very watery serum that I actually enjoy because I do feel like it adds an extra layer of moisture. I don't feel like it's necessary but its nice.
- The water cream is a nice light moisturizer that's good for the summer time. I tried it in the winter, however, and it couldn't stand up to the dry , windy, Colorado winter. But I can tell that this moisturizer is perfect for warm climate areas.
- The silk peony is a nice little eye cream that I feel like will last a long time because you don't need a lot. It has a nice fragrance but that same fragrance can be a bit too much sometimes, but not from a smell standpoint. After a few days of exfoliating you face the eye cream can tingle or sting a bit.
I also received my first fragrance from Scentbird in February. I set it up to get some cologne for my husband to try and I received Electric Wood by Room 1015. First off, I love this scent so much. It smells sweet, creamy, and spicy. Its like a very pleasant musk. The main notes are ambroxan, cedarwood, oak, iris, and nutmeg. Honestly, it's just so nice.
That is all I tried this Month and I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what I should try next in the comments and tell me what you think of this kind of post!
STAY HYDRATED!!!
